Dear All I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in maintaining ‘Moment’. She looks superb and frequently attracts admiring comments in marinas like “Is she new?”, “Is the teak new?” – not bad for an 11 year old boat! I would particularly like to thank Ken for coming to see us on his holiday when we experienced the exhaust manifold problem and the subsequent rapid and complete fix. We tested the engine up and down the Solent last weekend as there was no wind and it performed faultlessly once more. The friendly, expert and efficient help of Ken and the rest of the Hamble Yacht Care team makes our yacht ownership totally stress-free and Mary and I very much appreciate that.

You and your team have looked after my Moody 376, ‘Zoom’, for many years until her recent sale. I was always very happy, not only with your service and standard of work, but also with the freedom from worry which you gave me. During a period of many years when I was working too hard, there is no question that without you I would have been unable to continue as a boat owner. You left me free to enjoy the boat without becoming overwhelmed by the need to keep her in order.
The clear objective proof of Hamble Yacht Care’s high standard of work is the high value and rapid sale which was achieved for Zoom with your help. Her condition was outstanding; launched in 1990, she still felt like a new boat. I was also very pleased that her new owners will continue to use HYC’s services in the future: it is good to know that a well-loved boat will continue to receive the care she deserves.

Dear Paul
Thanks to you at Hamble Yacht Care for all you’ve done for us. Over the last fifteen years you have looked after six different boats, providing a whole range of services, from basic maintenance and engineering to cutting out and replacing fuel tanks. You have a pragmatic approach to problems so that one never feels that more money is being spent than necessary.
Even more importantly, you care for your customers. Typically, I recently phoned Ken out of hours one evening. We were about to cross the Channel and had a mechanical problem. Ken came out immediately and fixed it, and also gave me some spare parts to take “just in case”. Shortly after I arrived in Cherbourg the next day Ken telephoned to make sure that all was well. That, to me, is service.

Sadly, ‘Admiral’ has just been sold and is due to leave Mercury this week, thus ending five years of great boating from this marina, and twenty years in total of Solent enjoyment. I would like to thank you for the very good care you have taken with my boat over these last few years. The purchaser, a keen and knowledgable sailor who is very familiar with the Fjord marque, was most impressed with every aspect of her condition. Appearance, engine, performance (we had two sea trials), everything about the boat came in for warm praise, and Hamble Yacht Care can take great deal of the responsibility for this. Admiral looks and behaves more like a three-year-old rather than her actual thirteen years!
So thank you again Ken and we hope your business goes on from strength to strength; your level of service and customer interest exceeeds the local competition by quite a margin.

Dear Ken
I have been a customer of Hamble Yacht Care since your father started the business. During this time I have owned three different yachts, the last one being a Westerly 38, and then moved on to motor boats where I currently own a Broom 450.
During this I have had a monthly contract with HYC where you have regularly maintained and washed my boats to ensure that when I go down to use them they are always “ready to go” and I don’t have to spend time on maintenance.
Similarly, HYC have also dealt with both mechanical and other repairs and maintenance as is always necessary from time to time in yachting. You have serviced the engines, generators and heaters of all these boats. You have also installed electrical equipment, including Ray Marine chart plotter and auto-helm system, and you have dealt with many other matters as they come up from time to time.
When I have been away cruising and issues arise then you are at the end of a telephone to give advice which I have found to be extremely helpful.
In all these matters all at HYC have been both reliable and thorough and it has enabled me to enjoy my leisure time to the full. I have no hesitation in recommending your services to other people.
